Applicants seeking spousal, common-law, and dependent child sponsorship can now check on the status of their applications online.

Canada has developed an online platform where candidates for spousal and child sponsorship may follow their applications.

On the government's website, you may find the tracker. It is currently exclusively for spousal, common-law, and dependent child sponsorship applications. It is accessible to both applicants and agents.

The information on the tracker is susceptible to change at any point before IRCC officials make any final judgments, according to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). It also warns that there may be occasional discrepancies or delays between the actual status of sponsorship applications and the data displayed in the tracker.

Immigration Minister Sean Fraser revealed the tracker earlier this week as part of an effort to modernise Canada's immigration system.

We recognize that customers want to be able to track their cases more easily." As a result, in February 2022 we will release a permanent residence application tracker for spouses and dependents, which will enable them to track their cases online.

In the summer of 2022, the government also plans to open up online applications to additional potential immigrants. To combat the epidemic, online applications have increasingly been used in place of paper ones.

The government stated in the announcement that their efforts have resulted in typical processing times for new spousal sponsorship applications returning to the standard of 12 months.

There has been a backlog in immigration applications in Canada across all industries. There were 54,683 spousal sponsorship candidates and 8,848 children and other family class applicants awaiting a decision as of December 2021.
