Express Entry was introduced in January 2015 to attract high skilled candidates who can contribute to the growing Canadian economy.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will be undertaking an evaluation of Express Entry in the near future to understand the systems impact along with its strength and potential areas of improvement.

Express Entry is The Most Successful Canadian Immigration Program

Express Entry program is attracting highly skilled candidates who have the relevant education, language proficiency and work experience to establish them in Canada. Thus, one can say that Express Entry is meeting with the government expectations as to how the systems need to work. It is in sync with government.

To apply through Express Entry one needs to have educational qualification, good working experience, language proficiency and relevant skills. It is a point based immigration program.

The focus is to improve the application processing time, system’s overall transparency and the evolving links between Express Entry and Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program. Well, we hope that the above mentioned factors are improved soon by the Canadian government.

More Number of Applicants in The Express Entry Pool -  It is Getting Deep!

Express Entry had around 83,111 candidates in the Express Entry pool till May 24, 2018.

The express entry applicants are awarded a score on the basis of factors like age, education, work experience, skills and language proficiency. The applicant may also get additional points for provincial nomination, a Canadian job offer, Canadian studies, French proficiency and a sibling living in Canada.

The applicants who has the highest “cut-off” score which is determined by the government is invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence. The draw is conducted after every two weeks.

Canada is slated to welcome 1 million new migrants through its multi-year level immigration plan by the year 2020. It is also heard that there will be a 20 per cent increase over the years in Express Entry programs namely Federal Skilled Worker class, Federal skilled trade class and the Canadian Experience class.

What are The Future Improvements to Express Entry and CRS?

The improvements could be done for other groups who are not be-fitting with the current Express Entry program. It is important to see how Express Entry can better engage Canadian employers and cater to their labour needs.

If you are planning to migrate to Canada through Express Entry program then now is the correct time to do so, a lot of changes are in the pipeline to be done by the Canadian government.
