Canada is a beautiful land of 10 huge provinces. The country has two official languages- English and French, which are consciously chosen by different provinces; some preferring English and some preferring the latter.

One province which is situated near the capital of Canada is Quebec, which is strictly a French Province. Although, Montreal, which is a city in Quebec, is highly popular among English tourists, but all in all, French is the main cord of communication.

The rift of English speakers and French speakers in Canada can be traced down to eccentric historical background of Canada. England and France has always been fighting for Quebec to make it their country’s part. Although, Canada long back, has gotten a victory card, but the situation has developed a complex relationship between Quebec and the rest of the Canada.

The province of Quebec is like that little kid in the house that needs special attention from the parents all the time, otherwise he will left the adobe. In many stances, Quebec can be seen following a completely different set up of things, quite different from the rest of the provinces.

As a result of Quebec being a French speaking province, there is also a lot of cultural differences. In Quebec, you may be looked at peculiarly if you speak English all the time. Also, if you speak French in a wrong accent, you need to beg pardon from the civilians.

Having said this, it is not at all an implication that the rest of the provinces are ‘purely’ English. Canadian government has labelled both the languages as ‘official’. If you go to apply for any job in government sector of Canada, both English and French familiarity is mandatory.

To conclude, we can say that Canada enjoys a bi-cultural environment and linguistics!
