Nova Scotia is already exceeding its previous record for the number of permanent citizens admitted. According to reports, provincial deputy immigration minister Ava Czapalay informed the public accounts committee of the Nova Scotia Legislature that from January to September of this year, 10,670 new permanent residents had already been registered.

In comparison with last year, they still have three months left to process it all."

By the end of 2022, Nova Scotia will have accepted 14,227 new permanent residents, based on the trend during the first nine months of the year.

It is expected that Nova Scotia will attract 5,042, or 55.4%, more permanent residents this year than it did in 2021 when 9,155 new residences were welcomed into the province.
