How to improve the CRS score for Express Entry?

A point difference in CRS score may make or break your immigration chances of applying for Canada Permanent Resident Visa. The higher are your CRS score the better are your chances of getting an invitation to apply.

A two-stage process is applicable for Express Entry for Canada PR through Express Entry Federal Skilled Worker Program in particular.

To apply for FSW, you are required to score at least 67 points out of 100 on Canada assessment grid. The points are calculated for age, educational qualification, work experience, language ability, and adaptability. The eligible applicants with said points are preceded towards the next stage namely the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

Only provincial nomination enables an applicant to receive 600 additional CRS score and rest 500 are divided into other factors mentioned above. Another 100 points are for skills transferability combinations.

Language Proficiency is your easy and simple way of increasing your CRS score. Your language score can give up to a maximum of 136 points with CLB 9.

Also, if you have a basic-intermediate knowledge of French, you can take the TEF language test and get a bonus of 24 points for knowing a second language and 30 points for proficiency in the language.

  1. Work Experience

With a work experience of 3 years and more, you can gain certain points under skills transferability combinations. Also, for those working in Canada will also be rewarded with additional points.
