What are the requirements to register a relationship in the above mentioned states?

There are different requirements set for the different states, in order to register your relationship you need to check the requirements of these states which are as follows:

To register a relationship in NSW,

  • The partners should be unmarried and should be above 18 years and one applicant must be a NSW resident, the other can be overseas.
  • Both the partners should not be related by family.
  • The complete application must be sent in person or through mail

To enter into a civil partnership in ACT,

  • Both the partners should be above 18 years and unmarried, and should not be in a civil union or partnership.
  • One applicant should be a resident of ACT and other can be overseas.
  • The partners who is an ACT Resident must provide the proof of the same by submitting birth or citizenship certificate, current passport if it is possible to obtain a document mentioned above, provide a statutory declaration including an explanation.

 

To enter into a civil partnership in the QLD,

  • You can register your civil partnership with or without a declaration ceremony.
  • All the documents should be produced in English language and if not possible to produce in English language make sure it is translated with certified English translations.
  • Rest all other requirements are same as that of ACT

To register relationship in Tasmania,

  • Authentic evidence of identity, age and residency in Tasmania must be provided

To register a relationship in Victoria,

  • Both the partners must be unmarried and above 18 years old.
  • One applicant must be a resident of Victoria and the other can be out of the country
  • The partners should not be related in any means with respect to family
